About Us

Dean McCrary Imports is locally owned and operated. Dean McCrary started his automotive career history in 1977, when he worked, after school part time for Treadwell Ford in Mobile, Al as a detailer, lot boy and runner. In 1981, Dean began to detail and wholesale cars that he purchased through Treadwell Ford. Later that year, he resigned from Treadwell and sold vehicles, retail and wholesale, from a small lot in front of his grandparents home on Moffett Rd which he out grew. In 1986 he move his retail operation to 2750 Government Blvd, where he employed two employees. Before moving in 1989, his employee count had grown to 10. Dean moved his business to the present location when he was awarded his first franchise dealership, Saab. Since that time he has operated Saab, Subaru, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen and Kia on his 12 acre site along interstate 65. He also has a Kia dealership in Hattisburg, MS that was opened in October, 2002. Now, between two states, Dean employs over 85 people. Dean McCrary Imports has evolved from a small pre-owned retail lot to one of Mobile's largest new high line dealerships.
